How to Set Up OpenVPN Manually Using Linux Terminal

Follow the instructions below to set up OysterVPN manually with OpenVPN using Linux Terminal.

  1. 1Open the Terminal/Console and run this command Sudo apt-get install network-manager-OpenVPN.
  2. 2Now pressEnterafter typing the command.
  3. 3EnterYto confirm the installation.
  4. 4Download the OysterVPN OpenVPN configuration files fromhere
    .
  5. 5Extract the downloaded config files folder from yourDownloadsfolder.
  6. 6Right-click on your Network Connection icon and select “Configure Network Connections” from the drop-down menu.
  7. 7Click on the+ sign.
  8. 8Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Create” after selectingImport VPN Connection.
  9. 9Go to yourDownloadsfolder, where you have extracted the TCP and UDP files.
  10. 10Open any folders, TCP, or UDP, depending on which OpenVPN protocol you want to use.
  11. 11Now double-click on the VPN server file you want to use, and select “Yes” in this example.
  12. 12Type yourOysterVPNusername and password in the relevant fields. Then clickOK.
  13. 13ClickConnect in your Network Connections to connect to the VPN profile you just created.
